Contexting isn't a word. I made it up. At least, I think I did. If it turns out that contexting is a word, and you happen to be the one who invented it, please accept my sincere apologies for having stolen your word and claiming to be its originator.
Contexting (at least my version of it,) is the art of studying culture in order to enter it and have influence. I say it's an art because experience has taught me that it certainly isn't a science, no matter how many textbooks they may write on the subject. The tricky thing about culture is that you're never outside it. It's one of those things you must study through experience and biased observation from within.
My name is Caleb Crider. I recently returned to the United States after living in Europe for six years. I learned a lot living in a postmodern, post-Christian context, and the European worldview is coming (and has come) to the U.S. In terms of culture, I've been to the future. I've seen what's coming, and let me tell you, our leaders are not ready for it.
That's why you should read my blog. I write about culture from different perspectives in order to help you be prepared to lead in the midst of the worldview shift that is sweeping the nation. Also, I hope to entertain you a little. Maybe inspire. Possibly incite. I wouldn't intentionally offend, but that might happen too.
Thanks for reading.
